Today, on the occasion of International Day of the World's Indigenous Peoples, CCHR releases an update on access to collective land titles for indigenous communities in Cambodia. From 2011 to July 2022, 37 collective land titles were granted to Cambodia's indigenous communities, with only 18 new CLTs granted since 2017 despite the Royal Government of Cambodia ("RGC")'s commitment to accelerate land registration for indigenous peoples. CCHR encourages the RGC to fulfill its commitment to accelerate CLT registration for indigenous communities and to address the barriers preventing indigenous communities from registering their communal land to preserve their identity, culture, and traditional lands.
